Twitch added a new setting that lets streamers stop Amazon from training AI on their streams, clips, chat logs and channel content. One catch: it’s on by default. Creators have to go dig it up and turn it off themselves, which means anyone who doesn’t know it exists just got opted in without asking.
Streamers are calling it what it is: a platform deciding your work is training data first and asking permission never. This isn’t a privacy footnote. It’s the opening argument in a much bigger fight, who owns the value of content once an algorithm learns from it, and does hosting your work anywhere give a platform the right to feed it to a machine?
